Sakai Coho Run

Sakai’s Annual PTO Fundraising Drive
October 12 – October 30, 2020

Our 2nd annual COHO RUN, Sakai’s one-and-done fundraiser, is on!

Please register your student(s) on our fundraising site.

Visit, and use our school identifier code 5d3747f18557e.

If you’ve registered on the Get Movin’ platform before (either last year at Sakai, or at another school), you can enter those login credentials and then just join this year’s event (Sakai COHO RUN 2020).

Do we really need to raise money this year, you might ask?
The answer is yes.

Donations from this year’s COHO RUN will be used to support the specific needs of an unusual school year – for everyone at Sakai, whether remotely or in person. Along with underwriting many classroom supplies, online subscriptions, teacher grant requests, and other educational materials, your PTO is committed to funding experiences/events to foster a strong sense of engagement and community among all. Participating in the COHO RUN at any level is a great place to start! Our goal is to collectively raise $50,000 (or an average of $125 per student), though donations of any amount are gratefully accepted.

In addition to asking friends and families for monetary support, we’ll also be encouraging students to find creative ways to stay active and healthy during a global pandemic.

Just like the 200 miles that our school mascot Coho salmon will swim upstream to spawn, we’re asking each student to commit to 200 minutes of active movement during our 2-week drive. As a school, we’re aiming for 6,000 collective minutes (like the 6,000 miles a salmon will swim in its lifetime). Students will log their activity minutes as part of the Question of the Day each morning.

As usual, there are plenty of incentives for participating, including:

  • Special prizes for the first classrooms (and their teachers!) that get to 100% registration
  • Entry into weekly drawings for gift cards from local businesses for all donations of $5 or more
  • Special recognition for all students who achieve their fitness goal
  • Zoom lunch spirit party hosted by Principal Crandall for all classrooms reaching their collective fitness goal
  • School-wide celebration (exact details still TBD) if we reach our fitness and donation goals

Many thanks in advance for your support at any level!
