The PTOCC is the “Parent Teacher Organization Coordinating Council” for the Bainbridge Island School District PTOs. The purpose of the PTOCC is to provide guidance and oversight for all Bainbridge PTOs, to advise and mentor PTO leaders, and interface with BISD leaders about PTO and school matters. PTOCC: Working to Prepare for Emergencies
The PTOCC has been hard at work ensuring that all BISD schools have an equitable emergency supply in classrooms. Our Emergency Preparedness Committee has worked with the BISD, Bainbridge Prepares, and PTOs to determine what is needed in each classroom. We can’t do this alone! Along with PTO funds, we have secured funds from the Bainbridge Island Rotary Community Grant to purchase supplies for the schools.

The Bainbridge Island PTOCC and PTOs express great appreciation to both Rotary of Bainbridge Island and the Bainbridge Community Foundation for awards of $13,506 and $13,000, respectively, to help create a more resilient school district in the event of a disaster, such as an earthquake. These generous grants are enabling a more equitable distribution of emergency supplies including first aid kits, emergency warmth blankets, mini lanterns, disposable gloves and masks, and more — distributed across all school BISD classrooms.
