The El Velero Spanish Immersion Program is a Kindergarten through 4th-grade curriculum in a bilingual Spanish immersion environment. The program was launched in 2012 and currently has approximately 110 students and has grown in enrollment each year. The students follow the same district curriculum as all of the elementary schools, but in a bilingual immersion environment. Students learn to understand, speak, read, and write in Spanish. The goal of the program is to give students the opportunity to become proficient in both Spanish and English while learning the common core standards required of all students in the district.

El programa de inmersión en español El Velero es un plan de estudios desde Kindergarten hasta cuarto grado en un entorno bilingüe de inmersión en español. El programa se lanzó en 2012 y actualmente cuenta con aproximadamente 110 estudiantes, y ha crecido en matrícula cada año. Los estudiantes siguen el mismo plan de estudios del distrito que todas las escuelas primarias, pero en un entorno bilingüe de inmersión. Los estudiantes aprenden a comprender, hablar, leer y escribir en español. El objetivo del programa es brindar a los estudiantes la oportunidad de volverse competentes tanto en español como en inglés, mientras aprenden los estándares del Common Core requeridos para todos los estudiantes del distrito.
