There are so many great ways to get involved at Sakai! We need many parent helpers to make our school fun and supportive for all students. Thank you!
BISD Volunteer Requirements
Complete your BISD Application online. (Remember, your clearance needs to be renewed every two years.) We recommend doing this ASAP so you will be ready to help with upcoming activities. The application itself takes less than an hour to complete, but the approval process may take 1-2 weeks.
To apply for volunteer approval with the school district, click HERE. If you are unsure when your volunteer clearance has expired, you can contact the Sakai office for assistance.
Volunteer Opportunities

- Game Room: Sign up to monitor the Game Room (in the back of the library). The Game Room will be open during lunch recesses on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We would love one parent volunteer to supervise each of these. The game room is only open if there is a monitor, so please consider signing up.
- You must have completed the BISD Volunteer application and been approved in order to volunteer in the Game Room
- Contra Dance: The Sakai PTO is looking for 1-2 volunteers to help plan the Contra Dance Event scheduled to occur on Thursday, April 23rd. You will work directly with Sakai teachers Katie Gibbs and Amy Evans to plan this fun, family event, including helping with planning details and coordinating volunteers for the event.
