Volunteer for Woodward PTO

Parent volunteers are needed throughout the year at Woodward Middle School. Special events like field trips, the Geography Bee, Fallapalooza and the Eighth Grade Banquet make middle school memorable – in a GOOD WAY! Volunteer tutors give many students the extra help needed to prepare for high-school success. The opportunities to help are numerous.

Q: How do I get started?

A: In order to volunteer at Woodward this year, you will need to be sure your BISD volunteer approval application is completed and your clearance is up to date. (Remember, your clearance needs to be renewed every two years.) To apply for volunteer approval, go to the Bainbridge Island School District home page and click on the “Volunteer” link. If you are unsure when your volunteer clearance expires, you can contact the district office or the Woodward office for assistance – They can let you know if you are up to date.

We recommend doing this ASAP so you will be ready to help with upcoming activities. The application itself takes less than an hour to complete, but the approval process may take 1-2 weeks.

Q: How will I know when my help is needed?

A: All Woodward parents and guardians will receive online sign ups sent by the PTO or school office throughout the year. Sign up communications will arrive 2-4 weeks prior to events. This will help you keep track of what is going on at school and will hopefully allow you to make room in your schedule to participate.

Thanks for supporting our school!
