Here’s the thing: the Move-a-thon is our only fundraiser of the year for x̌alilc (Halilts) Elementary, which means it’s our one big chance to fund all the amazing extras that make our school incredible. No candy bar sales, no wrapping paper catalogs—just this! And honestly? That’s pretty great, all around.

This Year’s Goal: $85,000

We know that sounds like a lot, but it breaks down to about $260 per family—and every single dollar goes directly back to creating joy for our kids. We’re talking yearbooks for everyone, hands-on STEM supplies, teacher grants that spark creative learning, art materials, library books, garden supplies, sensory tools, tech devices, educational software, recess gear, and community events that bring us all together. This is how we make the magic happen!

Two Weeks of Fun + One Epic Finale

The Move-a-thon isn’t just about donations—it’s a full-on celebration! Sprinkled throughout the two weeks (Oct 10-24th), students will enjoy special lunchtime activities and prize drawings. Then we cap it all off with an obstacle course fun run/walk on the playground that’s bursting with energy and that feel-good community and school spirit!

The Prizes Are Pretty Cool Too!

• Hit our goal? The whole school gets a shave ice truck party!
• Every student gets a spirit wear T-shirt just for participating!
• Top-donating grade level earns an extra recess (with bubbles!)
• Top-donating class wins a froyo party from Island Cool!
• Students are entered into a drawing to win prizes like gift cards to local businesses!

Let’s do this, x̌alilc families, friends, and neighbors! When we all pitch in, incredible things happen for our kids. Thank you for helping to make this school the special place that it is!

Move-a-thon itself will be a spirit-filled morning of fun where the kids complete an obstacle course style fun run on the playground and field on Friday, October 25th. All x̌alilc community members are invited to come cheer your student on.
