Clues for the location of Otter #1!
Hundreds of people walk by me everyday,
Not all of them call Bainbridge home.
They come because they are thirsty or
They’re tired and need a jolt to energize their bodies.
If you can’t go trick-or-treating,
You can stop here to satiate your sweet tooth.
I am hanging out outside,
Watching autumn leaves fall from the trees.
And listening, occasionally, to a busker,
Or the bird that sings in the dead of night.
If you think you know where our otter witch is hiding, swing by with your kiddo(s) and snap a pic (your child does not have to be in the picture, if you prefer it that way!) and use the hashtag #ordwayhalloween for a chance to win a special prize! You can also PM or email, if that works better for you.
Our little mer-otter is clearly by the sea,
But because we’re on an island, there are so many places she could be!
This beach is public,
But just a tiny stretch.
Lots of houses across the street,
They must not mind the stench!
Off in the distance, you can see the big city.
When it’s low tide, the mud is slightly less pretty.
If you think you know where this be-costumed otter is sunning her tail, head on over and snap a pic. Use the hashtag #ordwayhalloween or private message us for a chance to win a prize!
Whence blows he his fiery breath?
Any child who nears
Risks (pretend) death.
Yet many pass this dragon by,
Guarded by the trees
That grow sky high.
These trees be grand for sylvan feast.
Drink in the green
Of this forest’s east.
O wee beastie dragon,
Calm your eerie wail!
People, dogs, and horses
Deserve to walk this trail.
These are the clues for otter #3! If you see him, snap a pic and post with the hashtag #ordwayhalloween or send it in a private message. Every bit of participation enters you in a drawing for a Halloween prize!
Otter #4 is all ready for the big game tonight. Where will he be tailgating? Well, he’s clearly a sporty guy. He wants to be near other athletes playing or practicing. He also loves games, like code breaking challenges. But this otter search & find is the BEST game!
If you find one, snap a pic of any of our Ordway otters dressed up for Halloween and share it on social media with the hashtag #ordwayhalloween or send it to us directly. There are prizes for participation!
Trick or treat…
Or bibbity, bobbity, boo.
Close your eyes, make a wish,
And may all your dreams come true!
This otter wished
To be a fairy;
She had no interest
In a costume that kids might find scary.
She also wished
To watch kids play,
And that is where
She hangs today.
At a site
With swings and a slide
Made extra special
So with a grown-up you can ride.
For the Marshall Family,
This space was a dream come true;
A place where children of all abilities
Could play right through.
On this Halloween,
What do you wish to be?
A winner of an #ordwayhalloween prize,
I’m sure we can all agree!!!
Follow the clues that we have posted to our six costumed otters (this is Otter #5, there’s just one more to come!), snap a pic and post it on your social media with the hashtag #ordwayhalloween or send it to us privately! Each time you do, you will be entered to win a Halloween prize from the PTO.
Attention all Muggles! You won’t need the Marauder’s Map to find our 6th and final Halloween otter.
Harry Otter has apparated at our very own Hogwarts!
But don’t accio him to you. You have to cast a flying spell on your best broom and race like a Seeker in a game of Quidditch to his location.
Harry Otter is staying safely outside of his beloved school of witchcraft and wizardry. If you get too close to the building, the Whomping Willow will knock you back to a safe location.
The Ordway (Ordwarts? Gryffindordway?) PTO wishes all our witches and wizards a happy Halloween. May you fill up on Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, Fizzing Whizzbees, Jelly Slugs, and Chocolate Frogs. Keep your mischief managed in the most Covid-safe way this year!
